Multiple language sites made simple

The Internet knows no borders – and more and more, neither do corporate Web sites. But managing a site in several languages and coordinating the associated updates can be a logistical nightmare! That's why we developed an XML-driven translation management tool for Briggs & Stratton Corp. – a tool that automates the process and workflow behind the scenes of a multi-language Web site.

When Briggs & Stratton personnel publish a page in English, they can choose a variety of other languages for translation. The CMS then routes the text through the translation and approval processes and posts it to the live site.

And because the translation tool is now part of Northwoods Software's open framework CMS, you, too, can harness the power of this simple but effective tool!

"Previously, all translation was handled offline. Our translator –- based in Belgium -- would translate each site update and send them to us. Now it is integrated into the CMS. It is a timesaver. We just select the languages and hit one button. There is very little room for error."

Armida Markarova, Briggs & Stratton Marketing Specialist

"There was a definite benefit to moving to the Northwoods CMS. I was not able to find a packaged solution to handle our translation issue. The benefit of working with Northwoods was that they were able to design it to do exactly what we wanted it to do. They specifically met our requirements and our translation company's requirements."

Deborah Spanic, Briggs & Stratton Manager of Intellectual and Internet Properties
