- You know the difference between white hat and black hat SEO techniques
- You are skilled and experienced with Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, and other leading analytics packages
- You have done analysis work for clients and written SEO and Web Marketing consulting reports
- You know about flytrapping and other content strategies
- You love to write in a clear, simple and direct style
- Some people call you a geek
- You have know how to create valid CSS and XHTML

- Analyzing client web sites and recommending and implementing strategies for improving search engine placement
- Providing advice, guidance and intervention on content and information architecture decisions related to web marketing strategies
- Interacting with designers, programmers to understand the capabilities of our content management system
- Providing time estimates for scoping documents.
We build large web sites, develop content and document management products, design stunning web sites, obsess over usability and findability, and engineer half-million-dollar software systems.
The Job...
This is initially a part time, hourly position, but could grow into a full time position with repeated project success.
Northwoods creates enterprise class web sites using our in-house team of developers, designers, information architects and project managers. We are not a staffing firm. No new cubicle every six months. No bench. No taking lousy assignments to avoid the bench. You work with the same 50 really smart people day-to-day. They're (mostly) very friendly and they all like beer. Projects change every 3-6 months so it's never boring.

Roles and Responsibilities...
The following percentages will vary, but will generally be as follows:
- Analysis of client websites (30%)
- Write Reports and provide consulting and education to clients (10%)
- Implement changes to client websites (30%)
- Research and stay current with SEO, web marketing, and analytics trends (20%)
- Mentoring (5%)
- Assist with quoting / estimating (5%)
- sometimes all on the same day
The Culture...
All employees enjoy a private 15x25 office complete with a door that closes. We have showers available in case you bike to work or want to use the local running path or workout room.
All employees get two monitors, the latest hardware, and free popcorn on Thursdays. No need to wear shoes around the office. The boss doesn't.

- Strong oral / written communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with clients, developers, and the creative team
