| | What is the difference between Titan V4 CMS and open source CMS products such as Dot Net Nuke? | |
| | There are considerable differences:
- The security features of Titan are far more advanced. Create new security groups on the fly. Connect to LDAP or Active Directory. Use AND / OR to create complex nested hierarchies. Support for security matrixes.
- Multi Tag and Edit. You might not use this feature in the first few weeks, but you will greatly appreciate this feature 6 months from now when you need to make the same change to many pages.
- Tagging and Classifications. This is the stuff Web 2.0 is made of. Tagging is the power behind YouTube and Flickr. We extended the power of Tagging to Documents and database tables.
- Smart Search. Only Titan V4 has such a powerful search engine / search management system built in. 50% of all users use search as their primary navigation. Open Source systems are years behind in their search technology.
In addition, if you're not highly technical (i.e. you don't download new versions of Linux to play with in your spare time) there is a huge "soft" benefit to working with a CMS company that has a healthy mix of engineers, designers, architects and marketing strategists under one roof.
Finally, ask the open source vendor how many times they've done major installations of the open source product. We've done over 100 with ours. Ask how often they've changed the base code to accommodate a client's special needs. We wrote our system so it's not an issue.

| | Does your system work with Cold Fusion, Php, Java and other non-Microsoft languages? | |
| | You are free to write applications in any language that will run on your local or remote web server and call these applications with our Portlet Block. Out of the box, the display side (layouts and blocks) is written with HTML, XSTL and Microsoft .Net technology. There are no restrictions on using other languages to present and transform your web pages. Back to Top

| | How does your system compare to Vignette, Broadvision and Interwoven? | |
| | Titan CMS has about 80% of the functionality of these competitive products -- which for about 20% of the cost is enough, for even our largest customers like Snap-on, AIG, and Briggs and Stratton. We believe that Titan is easier to use, faster to learn, and far less expensive -- to both license and maintain. (But then again, everyone says this! Call us for a tour and judge for yourself.)
